Early weaning

Hi,

So a little back story, my little girl is 4 months old, and has always had trouble eating her milk. She eats every 3 hours and has only just started finishing 4oz/120mls. She is bottle fed on cow and gate.
I've had her weighted and she has had slow growth in the last 7 weeks and is on the 25th percentile.

But she just doesn't want more milk, even if I try and feed her kore frequently she won't take any more.

And also she has never poo'd every day, sometimes it's 3/4 days.

So I tried her on some baby porridge and she loves it, very actively going for the spoon and eating it all.

In the past 3 days I've given her porridge twice a day. As well as her normal milk.

She has pooped every day for the last 3 days, it is loose. I should also add she is teething and her poos have been loose all month, every time she has poo'd.

Does this sound normal? I know I'm supposed to wait until 6 months but she doesn't want anymore milk and I can't keep having her not gain weight properly.

Many thanks for any advice or experiences of what other people have gone through

Have you spoken to your HV or GP about any of this?

I think you need medical advise if you are weaning early.

Is she dropping percentile has she always been on or around the 25th?

Food has less calories than milk so unlike to help with weight gain issues

This could really hurt her stomach. It might be she needs a different milk. Please talk to HV before doing something as big as this!

Speak to HV. I weaned my DD with severe reflux at 17 weeks. The advice at the time was only pureed fruit/veg/rice etc before 6 months bit this was a few years ago so things may be different.
