Looking at switching to bambino mio - how many do I need realistically?

Thanks, c

About 15 minimum, but have you tried them? They're not that absorbent and often leak round the legs in my experience. There are much better cloth nappies out there.

Depends on how old the baby is, how often they poo and are they a heavy wetter.

Go to the nappy lady site for recommendations, and be aware pocket nappies like bambino mio aren't usually absorbent enough for overnight

You say switching- do you already have some cloth, or disposables? Different styles work for different babies. Unless bulk buying is much cheaper I’d buy 6 or so, enough for a day and a half maybe, and then use your old ones/disposables while they are in the wash. You’ll quickly get a good idea as to whether they fit your baby well or not. If not you can use them as house nappies and buy a different brand for out and about.

Is there a nappy library near you? You could hire a kit to try

Tessie87 · 24/02/2020 22:09

I bought 20 odd but agree that they do leak and could never be used for nighttime. Wish we had tried them before buying so many!

YenniferOfVengeberg · 24/02/2020 22:57

@tessie do you use boosters? Also they're microfibre so susceptible to compression leaks- vest extenders/, bamboo booster if in a sling might help

I have about 18 miosolos and I cloth full time with no problems :) They say on their website you only need 8 for part time and around 15 for full time and I have more than enough. I've found them to be really good with my LO

Namechangeymcnamechange11 · 25/02/2020 21:29

I have 15 for daytime use. I do boost with Bamboo though, I just find Mio solos suit my skinny boy better than others. Having said that, ILs put him to bed one night due to an unexpected delay, but put him in a boosted Mio solo instead of a LL and I was impressed that it didn't leak in 12 hours! I use little lambs at night for the absorbancy as mine is a toddler and sleeps through. I wash them twice a week, as he goes to nursery 3 days, which uses disposables on him while he's there.
