Flu

Hello
My son is 15 months and my husband has the flu. He has not been vaccinated (no real reason just hasn’t gotten it) My husband hasn’t gotten near my son and is wearing a mask/not sleeping in the same room as us. I am first time mom. Is there anything I should be doing? I was told by a friend getting my son the flu shot now will not matter and may actually make things worse if he were to get the flu? I really do not know what to do besides keeping them away from each other. I’m having a lot of anxiety about this. If he were to get the flu do any of you know when it would happen? My husband has had the flu since last Thursday but just started medication on Monday. Thanks!

To be clear my son is not vaccinated. The way I said it was a bit confusing.

Are you in the UK? There's no flu shot for small children, and the spray is only for over 2s. Have you had the vaccination? I'd be more concerned about both adults catching it.

Your OH needs lots of rest, fluid and pain relief. You all need to do lots of handwashing and I'd give everywhere a good going over with anti-bac.

Has the GP diagnosed ‘flu?

If you are BFing LO you’d pass antibodies to LO through your milk.

Like Bip says, I’d give everything a good clean anyway. FFIW one of my DC caught the ‘flu and gave it to me, nobody else caught it in the family and he recovered pretty quickly.
