Help with car seat please

I am looking to replace our car seat as DS is rapidly outgrowing his. DS is 5 and a half months old..

I love the idea of a 360 base and a car seat which stays with them from now until they are 12.

My issue is, my car has isofix, my DH does not. Can anyone recommend a car seat which we could use in both cars?

Thank you for reading.

Axkid minikid. It is so safe. Rear facing until 25kg.

Was just going to suggest that one ^
I would have got that one but went for a Britax as I wanted isofix

Joie stages is great. Doesn't spin though. I think if you want a spinning one it has to be isofix. We have joie spin 360 in mine and joie stages (seat belt) in dh's. Remember that all cars have seat belts, not all cars have isofix

Spin seats (and Isofix generally) only go up to 18kg, which is around 4 for an average centile child, younger if you have a larger child. Spin seats are only Isofix so you can't get one if you want it to be used in both cars. If you want something that will do you through all the stages, something like a Joie Stages might suit. It is only rear-facing till 18kg, however, so if you want to rear-face until 25kg, you'll need something like the Minikid.

If you're frequently going to be swapping between, I think I would look into getting two seats, as especially the 25kg seats can be a bit of a pain to continually swap over as they are tethered as well as installed via seatbelt.

They are really heavy OP and in my case I found I couldn’t manage lifting it between cars. We ended up getting two- one for each car. I had the Britax for mine as I drive the baby 95% of the time. Toddler grew out of it by 3 years old (he was already almost 18kg) so now we have two forward facing and he can climb into them by himself.

Have you taken all the inserts out? DD1 was over the 99% for height and was in her first car seat until 9 months.

Thank you all your suggestions. I have taken all inserts out of his car seat at the moment. He's just a big boy.

Will probably end up buying two.

Thanks again all,
