Struggling with 13 month old

So, it all started recently up until a week ago. He would go to bed around 5.30 as he couldn't cope with being awake any longer. I'd lay with him until he fell asleep& he would be fine on his own all night.

However, the past week I've followed the same routine but he's started to hit me, pull my hair, jump on me while trying to settle him.

What can I do? Is it just a phase? Sad

That seems quite early to go to bed. What is his wake up time in the morning? What time does he nap? My boy does the same when he isn't tired enough for bed.

@Rosebud1302 he wakes around 6.30/7. He naps around 11 for an hour. I’ve kept him awake longer tonight 7.30- was a bit of a struggle for him but he was so much calm& relaxed when falling asleep.

How olds your boy? What time does he sleep? Smile

@SP8849 aww glad he was better!! My boy is 18 months now. Sleeps 7:30-7/7:30. Naps around 12:30/1 for 2 hours. About your son's age he dropped to the one nap. If it were me I would gradually try and move that one nap later. I suspect he is maybe only sleeping an hour because he isn't tired enough yet to sleep longer but I am aware he probably gets tired about 11. Maybe try and take him out around that time to distract him, then put him down after lunch? Might take some playing around. Then with a later nap and hopefully a slightly longer nap he should be able to have a later bedtime comfortably :)

At this age my baby has a 10/15 power nap at 9.30ish if she's woken up before 7, and a 2 hour nap at 12.30. If she wakes a bit later or doesn't seem tired I do the two hour nap at 12 and no morning power nap. Bed at 7.

5.30 does seem really early - they might not be tired enough?
