He is currently on 3 meals a day last meal being very light and 4 bottles a day if about 7oz each
Is this too much or too little to give this age he loves his food and does anyone have there routines for there babies that work well

The NHS don't advise weaning until 6 months- how come you decided to wean early?. What kind of things are you feeding him?
For what it's worth, I was told you can't really overfeed a baby (unless you're spoon feeding). Not sure how true that is though. Just make sure you have him weighed, i think they say every other month after 6 months, although I could be wrong.

To add to above, when they first wean at 6 months they only need one "meal" a day, you should sorry build up to three over a could of months.

Why is an almost 6 month old already on 3 meals a day?
They should be only just starting their first tastes Confused

We also started weaning early (for our own good reasons which were entirely right for our baby) so don't feel the need to justify yourself on here!

That said, I wouldn't worry if baby isn't eating loads at this stage. I understand that their iron stores are pretty depleted by 6 months so one priority should be making sure that what he does eat contains some iron (red meat/pulses etc)

Just as a touchstone, if helpful, our nearly 7 month old is offered 3 meals a day at 7.30am, 11.30am and 5pm (spoon fed plus some finger food at most meals) after milk feeds at 7am, 10.30am and 3.30pm (followed by another big milk feed around 6.30pm and generally a bit of milk in the early hours, although hoping to night wean soon). I also offer milk or water to wash down the food at mealtimes. Some days he eats more than others, some days he takes more milk than others. I've learned to just go with it, making sure he's not lost interest only because he's distracted but otherwise letting him set the amounts.

Honestly, babies are all different and some seem to be content with little bits and pieces at this age while others are absolutely ravenous.

Sorry, to be clear, the iron store depletion is at 6 months and the meat and so on should be introduced as second stage weaning, not first!

Our little one had several weeks of 'first tastes' of just vegetables and fruits because he was an early starter.
