7 year old writing violent stories

So my 7 year old came home tonight with a book that he had made. He had written some stories on an A4 bit of paper folded up and had given the stories titles, characters and drawn accompanying pictures. I am really quite proud of him especially as it was something he had done voluntarily at after school club. However, amongst all the talk about poo and superheroes, there was a bit where the character strangles and kills his sister. 😬 DS has a fractious relationship with his 4 year old sister. There is a lot of conflict due to them both having quite dominant personalities but they can be quite loving together as well. I was just wondering if this violent imagery is typical of his age or whether there is something else going on? He is also possibly high functioning autistic. An assessment resulted in him meeting most but not all of the criteria which is why he’s not diagnosed.

I don't know how normal it is but OMG I could have written this myself. Literally found papers in the bathroom this morning with stories written at school, in my sons case it was a play script but it was very violent and disturbing language. My son is 8. I'm sorry I can't tell you if its normal or not, I found it quite upsetting but after talking to him about it I've left it at that for now.
