Night weaning- reduced wake ups???

Hi all,
Just wondered for those of you who successfully night weaned your baby off the breast, did it reduce the through the night wake ups?
My little one (13 months) has always been an awful sleeper and for months has been waking up hourly and will only settle with a boob. We co-sleep so feeding on side through the night is also the quickest method for everyone to get back to sleep. Just wondering if I should try somehow and stop giving him boob through the night if this would reduce the wake ups? 🤷🏼‍♀️🤔 (any strategies welcome (apart from leaving him to cry as I just can't).
Thank you

Mine night weaned at 2.5 and completely weaned just before 3 all of her own accord. She still doesn't sleep through the night at 5 🙈

Some do, some don't, but if you're not going to nurse during the night you might need to do something different instead and it's a question of does that mean more or less sleep for you?

I night weaned very gently at 21 mo and he did then wake less. We still bedshare as needed even now at 2y7mo but he sometimes sleeps through just to give me hope

I waited probably from about the age you're talking @Finndod as it felt gentler to wait til he understood better and we could talk about it. After a lot of preparation he stopped asking in just 3 nights with barely any upset at all then we dropped the bedtime feed about a month later as it was less than 5 minutes messing about with one boob. 30s upset then more bothered about not being able to find the book he wanted

Hi we night weaned my 11 month old when she was waking 4-5 times a night and I was on my knees with tiredness. DH just did the settling with her when she woke and within three days she was sleeping through. It was a hard three days as she cried but was never left on her own so always had someone with her. It also didn't last as she got ill when starting nursery but has never gone back to this level. Currently at 16 months she wakes once and has a bottle as we ended up undoing all our hard work during a moment of weakness and now she feeds to sleep with the bottle but still feeds from me 1-3 times a day hth
