Out childminder has contacted us as DDs ears are producing discharge and look really sore.

I feel so terrible I didn’t notice! She’s been so happy in herself. She’s 11 months old.

I hadn’t cleaned out her ears and she last had a bath Tuesday night.

I feel so neglectful and shut. I’ve got her booked into an appointment today but feel so awful that it’s her childminder that’s picked it up and that we didn’t!

It’s part of being a mum to feel guilty. Children can get poorly quickly and you’re getting her seen to now.

Hope she’s on the mend soon.

Don't feel guilty! My DD has had the same thing 3 times in the last 4 weeks, the discharge was clear so I didn't notice immediately. Don't beat yourself up.

Her ears do look really waxy and gross now though so I’m wondering how long that’s been there for Sad

My daughter was a teenager before the optician pointed out she had a slight squint. I honestly hadn’t noticed. It made me feel better that he said it was a good job I hadn’t noticed as it had strengthened her eye
