Avulsion fracture

Hi,

My daughter (5) has an avulsion fracture in her foot.

Doc advised we can take her to A&E to get a below-knee cast put on if she’s still limping badly tomorrow. Been advised the cast won’t speed up the healing process, but may make the situation less painful for her.

I’ve asked her school what they advise in terms of attending in this situation.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Will the hospital put a supportive shoe on the cast (for walking purposes) or will my daughter be given crutches?

Thank you in advance
