Getting from A to B quickly with 2 year old

Hi. I’m puzzling in my brain how to do this and still don’t have an answer so can you offer any ideas?
I need to go between home and nursery to take my 4 year old to nursery. My 2 year old comes too. At the moment she’s pushed in a stroller but she’s getting quite big for it. Any ideas on best next option? We walk along a busy main road so bit concerned about letting her loose on a balance bike or scooter. Obviously walking is an option but any other options? My 4 year old is fine on a balance bike but again still need a hand free for her which is why I’ve not been keen on the idea of cycling with bike seat for 2 year old. I’m stumped. Do we resign ourselves to walking (toddling) ?

My kids used the buggy (sometimes) until 4.5. How is a 2 year old too large for it? We did loads of balance biking, scooting, walking and running but if they were tired, we were rushing or it was pouring they went in the buggy. We had a Mothercare, p&t, m&p, maclaren ....they all fitted 4yo.

Ok thanks. We’re using a McLaren. It’s starting to look quite narrow and I remember the same thing with my older daughter. Maybe it’s just her chunky Winter coat but it doesn’t look very wide

I used a trike for DS2 on the school run from about 2.5, did resort to the buggy again occasionally if very cold/ wet as I could wrap him up more easily.

Bigger stroller. I used mine until dd was 4 as she's not a keen walker and we don't have a car.

I have leads on my scooters. I think they were like £10 on Amazon. I use scooters for my two year old and three year old to drop older child to school nursery. It's also handy if my three year old gets tired as I hook it on to the stroller and pull him along. We also have lots of busy roads to deal with

She is 2. Absolutely fine to go in a buggy.

Sling! I use a Tula Toddler for my 3 year old if we’re in a rush or he’s tired.

Thanks. Good to hear your thoughts. DD1 was using a buggy board while DD2 was in the pram when she was 2 so didn’t really do a stroller at this age for her but sounds like I simply need to adjust the McLaren a bit as she should fit it. Toddler carrier sounds good too. I will check that out.
