I look after my kids 50% of the time and manage to juggle this with a full time job by working at home catching up at the weekends. I really could do with a bit of help for the occasional school pick up maybe even the odd job around the house. I won't let anybody near my kids unless I really trust them. I've looked at some of the websites where you can hire help etc but how do I find somebody I can trust. Any suggestions how others have done this. Thanks

I found a nanny/housekeeper for 2 days a week from childcare.co.uk - looked at local profiles with the job description i wanted, contacted them and met up for coffee if they were interested, read CV’s, ofsted/health care qualifications, and references for the two best, then offered job to favourite. She’s been with us 6 months and is amazing, i would totally use that site again.

Childcare.co.uk or ask around other parents locally. You are unlikely to find someone to provide childcare and ‘odd jobs’ though, so I would focus on a childminder or babysitter if you need help with pick ups. If you only have your children 3-4 days a week, surely the rest of it just gets done in all the free time you have on the other days, or in the evenings after bedtime.

Ok thanks for the advice. Will try both options.
