How much do you pay for after-school care for your primary age child?

Prices have just gone up at our after-school club, but I'm interested to see how they compare.

Thanks

It will probably depend on the area. Mine is £12 per child if they regularly attend and £15 for an ad hoc session.
That is from end of school until 6 and they get a snack (sandwich/slice of pizza/hot dog).

ThisMustBeMyDream · 23/01/2020 19:10

£7 for 2 hrs 25mins. Includes snack.

It seems to vary from £4-10 here in other schools.

Bakersdelight · 23/01/2020 19:12

£5 3:15-4:15 or £12 3:15-6pm including supper

£8 for three hours and a snack. If they've done breakfast club then it is only £7.

Lipperfromchipper · 23/01/2020 19:15

€5 per hour for first child and then an extra €2 for the second so €7 an hour. They are open until 5.20

Oh my. Ours is really cheap. £2.50 from end of school (3:30) until 4:30pm. An extra £1 to stay until 5pm (unfortunately they don't offer childcare beyond 5pm).

Breakfast club is open from 7:50 and is £3.50 to include cereal / fruit / toast and juice.

mummyduckduck · 23/01/2020 19:22

Thank you; sounds like some good prices out there.

Ours has also expanded their opening hours; it used to be £10 until 5:30pm, but now it is going to be £10 until 5:15pm or £15 until 6:00pm.

Bit miffed that it's going to cost an extra £25 per week to carry on collecting by 5:30pm (that's the earliest I can get there after work) but it could be worse I suppose.

Ours is £12:50 till 6 including a snack - beans on toast /hot dog or something along those lines )

ThisMustBeMyDream · 23/01/2020 19:34

I wouldn't be happy with those changes either. How are they justifying it?

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 23/01/2020 19:39

£10 and it closes at 5pm, so not amazing, and requires lots of moving around of work to get there on time. Unfortunately no child minders do pick up from the school so it's the only option.

butterry · 23/01/2020 19:52

Ours is run by a nursery that does after school club and costs £26 for pick up from school until 6pm

PotteringAlong · 23/01/2020 19:54

£8.50 a session here, so £17 a day if you are in as a contract, £10 for ad hoc

KipperTheFrog · 23/01/2020 19:57

£8.75 from end of school (3.20) till 6pm. They have a tuck shop and give a snack of toast.

Otter46 · 23/01/2020 20:02

£13.50 for 3.15-6pm, I usually pick up by 5.15. They get a snack type tea eg pizza or beans on toast and fruit or yoghurts. My son’s teatime club is only for nursery and reception age (the older kids are elsewhere in the school)so it’s a small group with lovely staff. But his preschool was £7 for teatime club so quite an additional cost!

Tootea · 23/01/2020 20:03

£4.50 an hour and they run for 2 hours after school.

Tootea · 23/01/2020 20:04

Sorry meant to add they get a small snack with that.

greathat · 23/01/2020 20:17

Be grateful the school offer it. Many don't!

BikeRunSki · 23/01/2020 20:18

Ours has also expanded their opening hours; it used to be £10 until 5:30pm, but now it is going to be £10 until 5:15pm or £15 until 6:00pm.

Very cf that they have moved back the time cut off for the “old” fee, so that people who have always relied on the 5.30pm finish are actually being charged £25/week more.

They should have added the additional charge for 5.30-6pm. I’m chairperson of our wrap around club. We expanded our opening hours from 7.45-8.45 am to 7.15-9.45 am. We kept the fee the sane for 7.45-8.45 am and added an “early start” price band for the new bit.

ritzbiscuits · 23/01/2020 20:24

That is CF, I'd be seeing if I could change hours slightly to get back 15 mins earlier though that may not be possible.

Ours is £11.50 until 6pm, no reduction if you pick up earlier and I usually get him at 5.

Have no other option so don't really think about it.

Tiredemma · 23/01/2020 20:30

£6.50 3.25-4.40
Additional £6.50 4.40-18.00

NickMarlow · 23/01/2020 20:33

Ours is £7 until 5.30, or £4 if collecting by 4.15 or if the child does a school run extra curricular first and is only in after school club from 4.15.

Di11y · 23/01/2020 20:33

£2.25 per 30 mins so it would be £9.50 til 5.30pm

Muddlingalongalone · 23/01/2020 20:38

£5 3;15-4:30
£7.50 4:30-6 inc sandwich/yoghurt (if club after school like ballet)
£10 3:15-6

SueEllenMishke · 23/01/2020 20:44

£5 per morning session which is 7.45-9 and £7.25 for after school which is 3.15-5.45 with a snack
