Heating Coming On Wakes Baby

Has anybody else experienced this?!
My DD is seemingly becoming more and more of a light sleeper 😣 and I've noticed recently that the boiler coming to life wakes her up - not matter how asleep she is!

We had it set to come on at 3am every morning as our house gets a bit cold (and was good for when she was waking for night feeds so I didn't freeze haha) but noticed she's been waking for an hour at this time and just babbling to herself, eventually falls back asleep. Then her morning wake up has been getting about an hour earlier (used to get up at 7:30) as heating comes on at around 6am again for DH getting up for work.

I turned the timers off last night and she has slept through! My only issue now is the boiler also boots up everytime we use hot water too - so today I'm on an early shift at work and know that it's going to wake her when I go to get ready 😬

Nothing I can do really but just finding it so strange that it's started happening, as this wasn't a thing a few weeks ago.

We had this. And a neighbour going to work at 5. Nothing outrageous just, getting in his car and setting off.
I decided I'd rather be cold than have what little sleep I get be disturbed. So we changed the timer and had dressing gowns closer to the bed.
Dd was always an early riser and not an independent one as she got older. She's now 12 and it is only in the last year or so she sleeps past 7.30. Sad

Mine were terrible sleepers and we couldn’t bear them being woken by the heating. We used to put it on manually when they woke up in the morning. We didn’t have it on timer at all.

Maybe try some white noise in her room?

Same here, the boiler is in his room, hubby built a wardrobe round it to reduce the noise, but it still sounds like a jet engine when it comes on at night. It’s too cold to not put it on really. I can hear it through his monitor and it wakes me up!! However he usually sleeps through it to be honest.
When he sleeps at my Mum’s house the boiler is in his room and you can barely hear it.
I think we probably need a new boiler haha!!

I also recommemd white noise

Caterina99 · 21/01/2020 19:39

White noise for sure! My older child makes so much noise and my little one sleeps through it all as she has white noise playing loudly by her bed

you can get good oil heaters that plug into the electric so you don't need the early heating, that's something at least.

Thanks everyone! Trying white noise tonight so fingers crossed we see a difference. 😊

The heating wakes me up too - I don’t put it on until I get up for that reason. I couldn’t stand having it come on at 3am!

Mine wakes up to heating coming on even with white noise on full volume. Lightest sleeper in the world, she’s always been that way 😩

I have the same problem. Just wondering if the white noise worked for you? And what you used for it?
Thanks
