Folic acid during pregnancy

Hey guys, I'm 27 + 3 weeks pregnant and I ran out of folic acid tablets, am now on active iron tablets as I was told my iron levels were 10.8 which is low.. Do I need to keep taking folic acid tablets? Do they provide my baby with nutrients or is it pointless taking them since am over the 12 weeks?

I thought it was pointless after 12 weeks?

You don’t need them past the first trimester, unless you’ve been told otherwise by your midwife/obstetrician.

Yeah it was more just a habit why I still took them.. I also wasn't advised it was just personal preference lol, thanks :)
