How did it go when your dc gave up the dummy ?

dd, 2.8 gave up her dummys yesterday to the 'fairy's'. She recieved a new pair of pyjama's off them this morning.
Last night we had tears and real sobbing for nearly an hour and another brief spell for ten minutes os so at 11.00pm when she woke. She was fine then until 8 am when she woke.
She hasn't asked for it all day today although now she has had her bath she has started asking for it again.

I left ds until he was 3 and it seemed pretty easy with him.

Just wondered what others experiences were like.

She does have a little cup of milk which she takes to bed so am hoping that will still be associated as a comfort thing.

Might see if she wants to try that Sittingbull thanks.
As for the milk she has done that with the dummys from being little so it's one thing at a time and i felt the dummy was the worst offender so first to go.
