Hello... just curious to know what your evening routine is? At the moment I do bath dinner milk bed, but when my son begins to feed himself am thinking he will need his bath after his dinner!!

Aiming to get baby in bed about 7.30, we did bath, story, feed, down in cot while awake but sleepy. Lights out. He slept in his own room from the beginning. Then when very young I'd wake him for sleepy feed around 11 and he'd wake up again about 3, then started sleeping thru till 5.30am (still is an early riser).
My daughter was much fussier and had reflux but same routine. She didn't go down so easily but I just went in, stroked her untill she stopped crying, then out again. Repeat repeat repeat! Around three months she got it (and discovered her thumb which helped).
As they got older it was supper, play, up for bath together, (hoping daddy back to read story)! Then in jammies, story then bed. Slept in different rooms but story together. I can recall on one hand any difficulties with this - they were pretty good at going down. They also rarely woke up in the night unless ill. I think the odd nightmare. They were rarely allowed in to our bed, though I think my son came in more than my daughter and I'd move to the guest room as it was too crowded!
