Hi all I recently started weaning my 5 month old his routine Is 7.30 7oz bottle 9.30 porridge mixed with 2 oz of formula and then drinks 4 more oz 1:00 6oz bottle followed by lunch carrots and parsnips or sweet potatoes and carrots. At 4pm he will drink 6oz bottle then his bedtime one 7oz at 6.45 . I'm worried this is to much feeding he loves his food and taking to weaning very well just feel like I'm feeding him all day I'm wondering what age your babies were when u dropped a bottle thanks

They're very good at self regulating at this age. DS dropped from 5-4 at 9 months then pretty much dropped a bottle a month until he was having just his morning & bedtime ones at 1yo. We moved to sippy cups of cows milk for both by 14 mo (we had a tub of formula to use up first!)

I remember thinking "how much can you eat?" between 8-10 months but it was a huge period of development - he was the fastest crawler at any baby group we went to so I'm not surprised he needed the energy!

There is a very good weaning section on MN OP if you want to talk to other MNers going through this stage Smile
