Child from donor egg

Sorry, this may not be the right place for this post.
I’m seriously struggling to get my head round pursing donor egg ICSI with my OH.
I’m just struggling to get my head round raising someone else’s child?
Thanks

Hi @Pleaseletitbeme

I’m so sorry you find yourself in this positionFlowers

I have 15 month old donor egg twins. They are nobody’s children except mine (and DH of course) I am their mum. I did not know it was possible to feel as much love as I do for my children. Yes, I sometimes feel sad that I will never have a mini me, but it is nothing more than a fleeting thought that is then replaced with the knowledge of how lucky I am.

Having said that I knew from very early on that donor egg was an option I would happily pursue to become a mum. Have you considered counselling? I had a few sessions with a fertility counsellor
Which I found helpful.

Thank you so much for your reply.
It’s such a hard decision.

I have two donor egg children. They are mine, I carried them and gave birth. I can honestly say I never think of it any more (they are 12 and 10). I also have an older child who is biologically mine; the love I feel for him is no different to that I feel for my younger ones. Good luck if you decide to go ahead.
