What did you buy/do that made the newborn stage easier?

I know newborns are actually pretty easy as they’re not mobile but were there any things or routines or habits you got into that helped with the anxiety/night feeds/endless nappy changes and wetting through clothes etc?

The one thing I’ve found that helps us is having a nappy changing station downstairs as well as upstairs with spare clothes etc easy to grab and a little laundry basket underneath so I can chuck dirty clothes in it straight away. Doesn’t look pretty but does the job!

My eldest is in his 20s now but I still thank God for the graco swing!

Manage your expectations. Had a difficult birth and newborn son cried non stop for three months. The only thing that helped sooth him was clipping him in a sling. Buy one ASAP if you don't have an easy one!

Got husband to make me a packed lunch and leave in the fridge before he went to work

White noise machine

Schnuggle bath - wasn’t scared of baby slipping out of my hands, they’re fully supported

Pregnant with second baby now and I will definitely be

Buying a stretchy sling for newborn days (already have a more structured one for when baby is about 4m+)

Getting a portable night light to put on when doing night feeds

Investing in some more proper breastfeeding friendly clothes rather than just tying to manage with my normal ones
