11 day old not pooing

Hello, worried first time mum, baby is 11 days old she is now on Cow & Gate Comfort due to colic (I can't breastfeed at the moment during to medical reasons but trying to pump) and she hasn't pooed in 12 hours, she seems content, passing wind, feeding as normal and alert, don't know if I should be worried or not. Any advice or experience of this?

That’s absolutely fine. There is a lot of anxiety about poos, but it really is normal for them not to go every day. Both of mine regularly went 2-5 days between poos (one was ff and one was bf). As long as they are continuing to gain weight and having regular wet nappies, it’s fine and it will happen eventually. As you are bottle feeding, it should be reassuring that you know she’s taking plenty. It will eventually make its way out the other end.

Your baby sounds content try not to worry. Our baby got a little constipated when moving from breast to formula. If they go a couple of days you could call HV/MW who may advise a small drink of cooled boiled water which will help them go.

Remember breastfed babies often go 3-5 days! And yes it's very messy!
