Play dates at 3?

My daughter has a friend at playschool who she always says she wants to come and play at her house and her friend says the same. I was thinking of asking her mum if she'd like to come for dinner one night - but is 3 too young??

Thoughts before I message as don't want to be massively inappropriate.

Thanks

I would just ask if the child and Mum want to come from one afternoon to play/for coffee.

Yes dinner might be a bit formal, I’d suggest staring with an afternoon play date with coffee

Would you be asking the mum over too? I’d want to go with my DD at that age. I’d be quite happy for a play date though that involved me

You have to have the mum around too- coffee and a play date is best.
