Newborn with a cold

Afternoon everyone. My LO is 7 weeks old and has come down with the cold. His temp is fine he mostly just has a stuffy nose and is a wee bit sneezy.
The pharmacist gave me saline drops that I've been using if he's struggling to feed. He's sleeping fine but he's been sick after some of his feeds. He's formula fed and has gaviscon for reflux. Is there anything else I can do to help him? DH is picking up an aspirator while he's out in case that helps him any. I just hate to see him ill.

Plenty of fluids. Keep an eye on any temp. Anything above 38 would warrant the drs

Other than that. Not a lot. Humidifiers can help. Or just a plate of water on a radiator.

Thank you. Absolutely keeping an eye on his temperature. It's exactly where it should be just now. We got a digital thermometer in our baby box.

You can incline the crib. Helps with reflux as well as a cold. Make the bathroom steamy by running the shower or hot taps and bring baby into the bathroom for a bit if very congested.

Hopefully the aspirator will help too, my lo is 14 weeks and loves the aspirator 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️😂 it must tickle a bit as she laughs when we use it.
Also got some snufflebabe rub at the weekend, think you can use it from birth. I put a tiny bit on her chest under her sleepsuit and rubbed a little on a bib and hung that on the end of her cot too.
Not sure if it has helped but worth a try

Raise the head of the cot/basket. Saline drops before feeds. Keep nice and warm. There's not loads you can do really - hope he's better soon.

Thanks everyone. I'm always a wee bit concerned about inclining the cot because of the safe sleeping guidance. He's been napping on me most of the day. He slept for a really long stretch last night which scared the living daylights out of me when I realised the time.
