Lip tie?

Hi all. Baby is 7 weeks on Sunday, EBF and feeds lovely. Is this a lip tie? Or does this look normal? She has her 6 week check on the 13th so I'll bring it up with the Dr, but I'm sure you ladies will be able to help out too! Not the best picture, funnily enough she didn't enjoy me checking it out!

my daughter has this also! she too is EBF and is now 18 months old... I mentioned it at the dentist and he checked and said its not lip tie and is in the normal range and will normally split itself! xx

My DD had a lip tie and it was difficult to lift her lip up at all, it attached further down her lip and right between her front teeth.
Do double check though, it did cause difficulties feeding and problems with her teeth because I had never heard of a lip tie so she was undiagnosed until she was almost two.

It looks normal to me. Everyone has a frenum there, and the fact you can pull the lip back to show it suggests it's not a lip tie.

Lip tie is only a problem in babies if they are having difficulties feeding. Yours isn't.

It's rare that even if they had it that anything would be done about it until they were much older, like I said only if it causes difficulties feeding. It can cause spacing of the teeth but you wouldn't do anything until the adult teeth are erupted and fully in position there anyway, at about 13. Even then some people will just accept a space.
