dd 7yrs has started playing out with a girl who has just moved to our street but goes to a different school.
other girl is 9yrs and, from what i've observed, "a bit of a madam" as dh puts it. dd has repeated a few jokes that other girl has told her which were inappropriate at best and down right rude,at worst!

dd ignores time limits i've set for playing out, and has twice ignored my requests not to cross the road from our house to girls house, saying other girl had told her to.

she has also started swearing like a trooper. can handle dd's behaviour, just want to know if i would be doing the right thing by stopping dd playing with she-devil child! i just don't know what to do!!

I think that at this age if you dont feel comfortable with their friends you have every right to say no to them playing with them.

Has she only started playing with her during the school holidays? It may make a difference when she goes back to school if this girl is at a different school to her.

My 7 year old has a friend that I am not keen on and I refuse to have her home for tea as when she has been before she has used really bad language and was practically uncontrollable. If her parents are happy with her being like that then that is their business but I dont want her in my house annoying me!!!!

Just think, soon the nights will get dark early and she won't be going out anyway. I can't wait.

thanks ragdolly, i am limiting their opportunities to be together, but am definately moving towards stopping them playing together i think.

cheers,im changing my name...i hadn't thought of the "nights drawing in" factor!!
