My son, 1 years old. Randomly and suddenly came over with a high temp 38.2, for about 15 mins, gave nurofen and it dropped to 37.7, he had a nap, and when he woke up back to 36.7... why did this happen, should I be concerned?

Maybe the start of a virus. See how he is once the calpol has worn off.

That’s not a very high temperature. To be honest it depend what other symptoms he has but I wouldn’t be concerned about that alone, no.

My 2.5 year old has had several fevers over the past couple of years. Often the pattern is evening fever, up to 39 degrees, fine in the morning, for 3-5 days. Often no other symptoms, sometimes a runny nose. I asked the GP what it could be, and her answer was “toddlerhood”. 😝
