Heat rash in baby winter

Long story short my almost 7 week old has had bad heat rash which has dried out his face and spots over back, chest etc. Since birth we were keeping rooms stictly 18 degrees Celsius since and dressing him in only a vest and 2.5 tog grobag at night & vest and light bodysuit during day as per guidelines!

Since the heat rash and worry as he was getting so hot, we started keeping temperature 16 degrees and sometimes in just a short sleeved vest (!) during the day. He seems a lot better but sometimes still gets really sweaty! We're all cold so the original advice of have baby dressed warmer than you defintiely doesn't fly!

Worry about him getting cold but why does he sweat so much? Anyone else?

Are you absolutely sure its a heat rash? Sometimes my lo got a rash but dont think it was because he was hot (well only when it was the hottest day of the year!)

that's what we were advised and not sure what else it is. Even if not that, anyone else have baby who sweats so much when wearing under the recommendations?

E.g. it's 15 degrees now and he's woken up for feed. Just in sleepsuit and in grobag 2.5 tog, feels warm if anything!

It might be worth speaking to GP or health visitor op just to check out everything is ok
Could it be eczema perhaps?

Babies are warmer - do you have a thermometer to check babies temperature?
You’re health visitor is perfect for questions like this.
