Reflux

The Gp suggested that my 4 week old daughter had acid reflux.
He Prescribed medicine for her, (ranitidine) but guess what! It is out of stock everywhere! I can't even order it to the pharmacy 😩
But last night she was much better. So my question is.
Does acid reflux occur all the time? Or could there be times where babies don't have it?

Hi my 10 week old have been on infant gaviscon since about six weeks. He started to get better so we stopped giving it him and within two days he was crying constantly again. You don't need a prescription for infant gaviscon and I don't think it's as strong as what you have been prescribed. Asked the chemist and I don't see why they wouldn't give it to you. Plus you can pick and choose when to give it. You can give it 6 times a day but we only do 2/3 and he's been a lot more settled. I think it's great to have in just in case

They've stopped the ranitidine everywhere in the uk as of a few weeks ago. As the fda have found issues with it. So the uk have followed suit. My 10 week old baby also has reflux, we're using the infant gaviscon. But you can get a prescription from the gp.
