About to give in with regards to the dummy

In the middle of night 4 of operation no more dummies with my 4 year old DS, and absolutely hating it. He's just not sleeping. He moans and whines for his dummy when he goes to bed for a while, but I just remind him that the elf took them. After he accepts this he stops moaning, but just doesn't go to sleep. I've tried everything, but he won't go to bed. I through all the dummies out that I could find, but I know where there's still one stashed away. Should I just give it to him? I'm almost at the end of my tether.

No! Or you’ll have to do it all again.

Give him a teddy or blanket,

twinnywinny14 · 19/12/2019 22:47

No!! Or it will all be for nothing and will my it harder next time. Snip the last one with scissors and throw it in the bin and then you cannot be tempted to give in

No! You'll have to start all over again if you do; hang on in there.

If it was my son, I would give him the dummy but only at bedtime.

Aaggg, I know I really shouldn't. They need to go, but I NEED sleep. He's never been attached to other comforters, just his dummy and bottles, which also went to the elf. DH says we should go find it, I'm holding for now, don't know for how much longer.

Things always peak on day 3/4 - give it tonight & tomorrow & it'll be done.

I gave in last night. I feel like a bit of a cheat, but at the same time the sleep I got was golden.

My daughter was nearly 7 before we got rid, do it now, you’ve come so far you can do this 💪🏼

Mines 4.5 and he still has his, I’m firmly in the pick your battles camp at the moment.
