Please help me get my 6 month old to sleep in her cot!!

We've had the same bedtime routine since birth, bath, milk, bed however I still can't get her to sleep in her own cot. She falls asleep in our arms then when I put her in her cot she stays asleep fine but, within a hour she's up crying to get out. If I bath her give her milk and put her in the cot to fall asleep on her own, she becomes wide awake!! I try leave her to get bored but she never goes back off... really need her in her own bed! ( she's probs slept in her own cot all night through about 3 times in 6 months ) I can't bare the cry it out method because I know after she's cried herself to sleep she will wake back up again anyway shortly after SadWill be grateful for any advice Xmas Grin

When you leave her in her cot awake to settle herself to sleep - you say she becomes wide awake. What is she doing then? Just playing about or crying? Or would it eventually end up with crying anyway? There are plenty of more gentle sleep training methods that don't involve leaving the baby to cry - what about a type of method where you reassure her from beside her cot when she cries and don't leave until she is asleep? Would you feel more comfortable with that?

@hodgepodge21 she starts playing! Blowing raspberries and talking to herself, I've settled her from beside the cot stroking her head ect but doesn't seem to work... if it does she wakes up after ten mins or so 😟 when she's playing in the cot it always leads to crying but can't have her in my bed much longer as it's getting uncomfortable for me ☹️

Oh dear! I wonder if she just isn't tired enough? How is her napping and what time is her bedtime? Could be worth tweaking that around to make sure she is super tired come bedtime and doesn't want to play!!
