EBF 6 week old... Introducing formula

Hi,
I've been exclusively breastfeeding my now 6 week old since birth, and I've been expressing when I can (usually only getting about 70ml a day) I'd like a bit of a plan for when I want/need to go out for more than an hour (I'm feeding on demand and baby still has no regular feeding schedule) and have her dad or nana give her a bottle feed. Although I'm trying to build up a stash of EBM, we haven't figured out how much she needs each feed (obviously it varies with BF) and I was wondering if anyone has had any success giving baby a top-up of ready-to-feed formula if need be? I'm expecting her to reject it, but it would just make things so much easier if we could have some of those formula bottles in to give her if I'm not here and she needs feeding/topping up. It would just be now and then, not planning on giving formula for a feed every day at this stage, although might want to introduce that in a couple weeks of anyone can give any advice/their experience on that too!

Try a MAM or Nuk bottle.

Hi. We have combi fed with formula from birth. Our DD is now 3.5 months. We use the medela bottle as she has to latch on to the teat, so there is no nipple confusion. Make a 6oz bottle and just see how much she takes, you will soon get to know how much she will drink at each feed. Our DD will have 3oz every 2-3 hours during the day then feeds off me from the late afternoon to early morning.
