17 month old biting through dummies?

This past week DD has been biting through several dummies on both sides and I’m so worried as it is obviously a choking hazard.

Although she has slightly pulled back from using them recently, we have always relied on them to calm her down when teething and at nap/ bed time.

If this happened to you did you go cold turkey? I’m so worried about going back to sleepless nights but equally- I don’t think that I can trust her with them anymore.

Please help!

Stop using them. A child doesn't need one at that age anyway.

Yes absolutely go cold turkey. Such a horrendous choking risk. It won’t be as bad as you fear!

Thanks. I think I need to see this as a positive thing as she’s obviously ready because she’s not using them properly anyway.

We’ve just relied on them a lot as she’s been a crier from day1. Maybe losing it will make her more relaxed in a way as at least she won’t be asking for it...
