What does a 6 month old need for nursery?

Hi,
My daughter will be starting nursery at 6 months old in the new year. With this in mind I have been trying to think of useful things family members can buy her for Christmas. So far all I can think of is clothes - since I won't have time to do washing during the week - and name tags. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Maybe a waterproof puddle suit for when she is bigger and crawling? Do you need to send in bottles or food? If so a lunchbox or bag might be helpful. Spare white noise machine or sleeping bag if you use anything like that for nap time. We have found having a ‘nursery version’ of everything useful so we don’t need to stress organising his bag everyday and swapping stuff over.

bag that fits all her stuff in - things to store milk powder in if you need to send it.

clothes that youre not bothered if they get wrecked!

Have you asked nursery what their policy is on things brought in from home? We visited 4 different nurseries before choosing one for DS and each was different in terms of what they provided in terms of meals (some only allowed food cooked on site, some only the food you sent in), one provided a nursery-issue backpack and the others expected bags to be sent in from home, one asked for babies own blankets to be sent in from home for their nursery cot, the other 3 had an absolute rule against this. Don't waste your money on things you might not need until you've checked 🤷🏼‍♀️

Our nursery provide bags so it's probably worth checking with them.

Otherwise dark coloured clothes that don't get ruined, I have always dressed mine in navy leggings, vest and top as they are easy to take on/off and good for sitting around on the floors.

Will she need slippers? Our nursery have a no shoes policy and everyone wears slippers.

Will you have to provide bedding? If so, it will have to be labelled so you could ask for a personalised blanket and a personalised teddy.

Also sachets of calpol, bottle of suncream, nappy cream, all labelled and dated and a signed permission slip for use
