Woollywrap pants - what do I do with them?

My very generous friend has given me some BN woollywrap pants. I have never used wool covers despite being convinced how good they are so I'm not sure how to get started with them. Should I use them at night or are they best kept for daytime use?

Also I don't want to splash out on buying lanolin, wool wash etc just in case I don't get on with them...so does anyone have some going spare I could try [pure cheek emoticon]

flammmmmmmmeeeeee!!!! wooly advise needed ... im certain you need to lianolise them before use at least 3 times - i just got some from under the gooseberry bush (lanoliser stuff)and it was about £3.50 inc p and p. There about £18 a shot so your very lucky!! i think there best for nightime for breathability goodness as flame would say! im waiting for a couche cover arriving before i get into wool and some stancitator wraps and then im going to become a wool bore - just got a brochure for wooly wraps today actually and they look nice - the stripey wraps look a bit funky to me so id be tempted for throught the day but i wont say to much till the wooly woman comes along.....

just read the brochure thingy and it said need lanolising every week for 3 weeks so i would reckon once would do provided you do it again twice mroe weekly then they say once a month ... hope that helps you lucky person and i look fwd to hearing reports back....

Thanks nappyzone, I thought lanolin would be more expensive than that for some reason. Do I need anything special to wash them in?

My friend is wonderful and has given me lots of nice things for my new baby, some things never worn. These are fab blue and white stripey pants in a size small so I am going to try them on DS2 (who is 3wks old). DS1 is still in cloth too and wears fleece wraps at night so if they work well I may be looking for some in much larger size.....I can see that this may lead to a whole new nappy related addiction

Sorry - hello

I have a wrap care guide thingy here

If you have any lasinoh nipple stuff (I always spell that wrong!) left then use that - tis solid lanolin

Wool is looooooooooooovely.

I'm gonna be parting with some medium bits soon

claireybee · 23/08/2007 17:33

Just jumping on here...do i need to lanolise after every wash or will they retain enough after washing?
Also we had a major poo incident the other morning and the wrap is still a bit stained after washing, they say to dry away from direct sunlight so any other way of getting rid of the stain?

FlameBatfink · 23/08/2007 17:40

They retain some, so after they have had the first 3 you do you don't have to relanolise after each wash

Stains - I put them in a slightly shaded place and they still seem to come out.

Thank you!

Hi Flame, thanks for the link; it all seems easy enough. I will have to get my hands on some lanolin first though.

Oh how I wish I had purchased some Lansinoh in the first place (my sore sore nipples ) 'tis so expensive though.

They are truely lovely pants, I am quite excited about giving them a try. Gawd they almost make me feel like learning to knit they are so lovely
