Hello wise mums!

I'm struggling to find travel toys for my toddler that aren't either too young and boring for her or too complicated and aimed at those slightly older. She's 20 months and a lot of the things I've found online say they're only suitable for older toddlers. Is anyone else finding themselves in this toddler-toy black hole at this stage?

And more importantly, do you have any recommendations of toys/puzzles etc that your child loved around this age? We have SEVEN HOURS in the car for our Christmas break. Oh lordy lord...

Thanks in advance!

Megasketcher drawing board
Audio books played in car.

Most children I know get car sick if looking down for any length of time, so most toys out.

Mostly I would try and let them let off steam before and during journey breaks, and leave them to get bored just watching world go by and hopefully fall asleep during driving. A good 30 min run around in park just before leaving, and walk them around and around at service stations (some have small play areas also)

Nursery rhymes and children's songs on CD or Bluetooth. My DC and DGC always loved a sing along, even if it sometimes meant having the same song on repeat for the whole journey! The problem with toys and books is that they're likely to drop them, and then be upset if you can't pick them up.
