12 month vaccinations and sleep

My son had his vaccinations on Wednesday morning. Every night since Thursday he has been impossible to settle despite being tired. He refuses to sleep in his cot, standing, screaming and reaching out to be held. Last night was particularly bad. I think he got 5 hours sleep - 2 in the pram and 3 on his grandpa.

Has anyone who has had this got any idea how long it lasts?

I can't remember if it was at 12 months but my son sometimes had trouble sleeping after vacinations. I think he had a slight temperature and so felt rough. I gave him paracetamol every 6 hours and gave him a bath to help cool him down too (it was a very hot summer). It only lasted two or three nights. I hope that helps

Thanks. We've had 4 nights so far and my husband's away so my in-laws were up all night to give me a break. If it continues I'm going to have to book the back end of the week off work!

Yes, it's pretty normal. My youngest one also developed irritable hip syndrome after the 12 month ones (it's basically like a reactive arthritis, just a normal immune reaction, but a quite severe one). I literally couldn't even lie him down flat because he wouldn't move his legs and I ended up sitting up most of the night holding him. It lasted about 5 days or so and then things settled.

Mindutopia (great name by the way) that sounds terrible I am glad they're alright now but sounds like it was tough for you as well! I hope your little one is starting to sleep better now OP

Sounds reasonable but keep an eye on him.
Our DS developed a minor measles rash after the MMR jab, came and went within 3 days. Happened at 10 days afterwards.
