Where to find birth notes?

I'm not arrogant enough to think anyone would remember me but we have issues with our eldest - behaviour, development, etc.

Where would I find access to his birth notes? I've tried his medical records and my medical records and there's nothing. He's nearly three and it was a home birth

Have you tried contacting the hospital/trust you were booked with? They should hold your maternity notes including labour notes.

Call the maternity ward. If it’s been longer than a year, I believe they go to archives and you’ll need to pay a fee to retrieve them. Then a midwife can do a debrief with you if you’d like.

That's great, thanks. I think my area have "birth reflections" meetings. I'll call and see what they can do.

The pushing stage was really long and the midwives were unsure whether there was mecconiam (sp?).

Wondering whether it might answer some questions we have
