What age to introduce a duvet?

I think i introduced one to DD1 at around 18 months, DD2 is now 16 months. We don’t have the next size up in grobags so I’m thinking should I introduce the duvet at around 18 months again or buy a couple of grobags?

If they’re the sort of child who would kick off blankets. I’d be tempted to get a few second hand grobags from eBay whilst it’s winter and introduce a quilt in spring/summer, where it’s less likely to wake them up if they kick them off.

My DD1 was 18 months and very tall when we introduced her to a duvet and a toddler bed.

16 months will turn to 18 months and so on in no time at all so I would go for it!

We did it at 20 months; I did actually get the 18 month gro bags but she started to sleep really badly in it and only slept better when I moved her over to the duvet

We didn't do it till 2.5 when we took the bars off DC1's cot before. DC2 is nearly 2 and I hadn't thought about it yet.

They were/are both very active sleepers and wriggled all round their cots so would have chucked off a duvet before then

I tried to introduce one to my daughter at around 15 months whilst it was still warm at night but now it’s colder and she’s 19 months but still kicking it off so I’ve had to put her in the sleeping bag again the last few nights. Need to buy the next size up 😭

dd was just over 2 and requested one. I'd try a duvet and only buy sleep sacks if it causes issues.

We were able to keep using the 6-18 grobags until age 2 as he still fit in them and switched to a duvet aged just turned 2. He didn’t really get to pull it over himself at first but it was summer so it was fine. He’s 2.5 now and pulls it over himself and is warm enough at night.
