How much formula and how often?

I'm curious about how much formula, and how often, others mums give their formula fed babies?

10 month DS was previously EBF but I'm now weaning him and we're slipping into a routine of 180ml 5x a day (plus 3 small meals of actual food). Does that sound about right? Or do you think he should have fewer bottles of a larger amount?

They’re all different. My 10 month old has 3 full meals a day, and only 3 bottles of 150mls. Can’t get him to take any more. He eats a lot though! My DD’s were probably having a similar amount of milk to yours at that age.
I think the HV recommendation at this age is 3 bottles per day (morning, afternoon and bedtime) but as I said, they’re all different.

At 10 months mine were just cutting down from 3 to 2 formula feeds. A minimum of 20oz is recommended from 6 to 12 months.

Not sure about mls, but she was have a 6 or 7oz bottle when she woke up in the morning, one around 2pm and one at bedtime.

It’s fine for them to have less than 20oz as long as they have a balanced diet with plenty of calcium, and take a vitamin supplement.
I would have to force feed mine to get 20oz in him.

Its 20oz inclusive of milk in cereal, in foods and other dairy products e.g. cheese, yoghurt, etc. I just meant it would be ok if OPs child took less milk as they would still be around the 20oz mark

My nine month old has 3 good meals a day and a pudding/yogurt after dinner and has 3-4 180ml bottles a day as well it just depends on how much she wants, all babies are different so I would say just give him how much he wants and he will gradually wean himself off the milk as the food starts to fill him up more Smile

If it works for your child and they're maintaining a nappy output and growth line, it really doesn't matter what anyone else does
