Daughter stealing my things

So i know it's not the worst thing for a child to do but this has been going on for sometime now and it's driving me mad. My DD is 16 and keeps taking my makeup and clothes. First it started with the odd concealer that I would find in her room, tell her not to do it again and leave it as that. She apologised and said she wouldn't do it again.

After it had happened the fourth time I explained how it's disrespectful to take someone's belongings without asking, and with my permission she can use these things but to put it back after. She apologised and said she wouldn't do it again.

Now it's happened again, I think the frustrating part is she has her own make up and doesn't want for anything (first grandchild and only granddaughter out of 7 cousins so gets spoilt) she works part time at weekends and is on £8.50 an hour so earns a decent amount of money for someone her age.

I'm guess I'm just frustrated and feel she is being entitled and obviously isn't listening to me, any advise on how to nip this in the bud?

How does she need to ask you? Kids these days prefer to text or message requests. She’s not going to want to wait around and ask you in person for an item of clothing or makeup.

So you could ask her to message or text you a request to borrow/use something.

I agree she should not be taking your stuff without asking first, sadly teenagers are experts at being disrespectful to their parents. It’s what they are known for like toddlers and tantrums.
