She's a professional. Trust her. Are you happy with everything else developmentally?

My dc sat up circa 10 months.
Health visitor said that was a late start.
Personally I think they should be left to get on with it. I think we worry too much with milestones nowadays.

Hi Op have you tried sitting him down and putting toys just in front of him so he can reach out regards to getting them to sit up themselves you can try sitting him up with cushions around him so that if he does fall over isn't going to hurt himself.
Is he meeting all over milestones like standing crawling etc? If so I wouldn't worry to much just try sitting him up more and toys in front of him etc he will soon get it

TeddyBeans · 29/11/2019 08:15

My DS has hit every milestone 'late'. Didn't sit on his own til 8 months, didn't walk til 15 months, is 19 months and doesn't talk yet. My point is he still hit the milestones and by the time he starts school you won't be able to tell he did anything 'late'. Your DS will do all the things when he is ready please don't stress yourself about it xx

What does your ds do? Does he just lie on the floor where you put him? or does he move around by rolling or commando crawling? If you put him in a sitting position, what does he do? Does he use a baby walker? Babies who move around by rolling or use baby walkers sometimes miss out the sitting stage.

He. Move around. With his walker. And he rolls and when i put him in sitting position he play with his toys.

If he can move around the room by rolling and play with toys he is probably fine. Encouraging floor play with opportunities to pull himself to stand will help him develop his motor skills.
