5 day old hasn't pooped

Hello all! I am a first time mom and my 6 day old hasn't pooped in a day in a half. I am formula feeding and he was born at 36 weeks 1 day. Can anyone help?? I've heard it's normal but I wanted to confirm. He has gas like he's pooping but nothing. He pees often and eats about every 2-3 hours like he should. With it being a holiday we can't make any appointments till Monday.

You will still be under midwife care until day 10, either ring your community midwife or if you can’t get through to them then ring the hospital where you gave birth and they should help.
