Keeping Warm in Winter

My DS (10) was freezing last week. He asked me if there was anything he could wear under his jeans to keep his legs warm. He doesn't like leggings/under armor as they bunch up with his socks. My DD (12) told him that socks that go over his knees or thick tights could do the trick. He wants to give both long socks and tights a try. I've looked and have not been able to find any socks that go over his knees. Any ideas? And would tights be okay to wear under his jeans/shorts? What has worked for your DS?

My friends son wears stirrup thermal leggings type things under jeans as they then don't bunch with socks. Lots of horsey makes do these as they need to be thin but warm and fit inside fitted riding boots.

Something like this might work? www.equus.co.uk/products/equetech-thermal-stirrup-underbreech?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping&dfw_tracker=29461-19990700195910&gclid=Cj0KCQiAt_PuBRDcARIsAMNlBdquxkc3881JY92Vi37xbdjhtiDXkQBWTnJ3V28Cr4QZwcFQYUBnmgAaAls2EALw_wcB

Then technically they are not tights if he is worried about that.
