Jumparoo

Hey! I am in a small flat and want to get my 4month old something like a jumparoo for Xmas but they seem so big and wide! Are they any good alternatives that would keep him entertained

We had a Fisher price one that folded up quite easily to save space

We have a Fisher Price one that folds up too. Top tip, buy one from Shpock. We did and saved £50!

They are massive but they do fold up .. my son loved his !!

We were in a small flat when my DS was that age and got one that folded up. It was easy to stash it against a wall when not being used and he absolutely loved it! Definitely one of the best things we got for him.

You could get one which attaches to the door frame.

Please have a think about whether you really want to put your baby in something like this and speak to a health professional before you do so. Babies shouldn’t be put in unnatural positions they couldn’t get themselves into. It’s not good for their bones, muscles or gross motor development. They will learn gross motor skills by themselves by crawling and pulling themselves up when they are ready and inclined to do so.

Who knows what kind of damage these things may cause. I know they are hugely popular in the UK. I live in Europe where they pay a lot more attention to babies only being put in a safe and ergonomic position and I’ve never come across a Jumperoo over here. Similarly propping babies up with pillows etc before they can sit themselves is frowned upon.
