What to buy for niece

My niece is six and a half and I have no idea what little girls are into. For her birthday I sent her a fairy door and craft goods as I know she likes crafting. I normally send books as she loves stories. I don't want to buy her anything plastic.

What books do six year olds like? Any trends? I sent her the Winne the Witch books last year and she loved those.

Sorry if this is the wrong place, but I don't know where to post this.

It's a long while ago now, but from memory I think mine were in to anything written by Jeremy Strong at that age...... coming in to Roald Dhal (you can usually get a collection in places like The Works (and probably The Book People)

Thank you so much for the suggestions. I love the Book People, I get all her books from there. Great suggestions.

I'll check all those out. I used to love a lot of those as well. Brings back memories. Thank you.
