How quickly did you make friends at kids school

Our DS started school this term. I've met a couple of nice mums and one who I really like and done a couple of things with

Just wondering how quickly people staff having play dates (which I secretly dread!!) and make friends enough to go for coffee or for a meal etc

I wondered if I should be making more of an effort at this point or just take it easy like I am

By this time in my child’s first term we had had a number of play dates and class drinks. I would say it takes time and don’t rush it.

Don’t worry if it takes a bit longer than the first term. My DS made a lot of his friends during reception but did not have many play dates or party invites until the summer term. He is now in year 5, and I have been good friends with a number of mums of his friends/ acquaintances, so much so that we have our own WhatsApp group and occasionally go out for drinks etc.
It just takes time, but once you have seen the same mums several times on different occasions, like drinks, play dates, parties, school run friendships can develop.
