Advice needed please

I need advice, my DS is 8 weeks old shock but he is outgrowing the Moses basket...
he goes from top to bottom with only a little room left... he looks so scrunched up..

Is it to early to put him into a cot?
which will be in my room..
do I use a sleeping bag or just blanket I’m scared something might happen as he fidgets a lot in the night confused

My daughter didn’t go in a cot till she was 8 months due to being premature..

Really don’t know what to do please help....

I never had a moses basket for my DD1. She went straight in to the cot when she came out of NICU (4lb 5oz when she came home). I used rolled up towels under the fitted sheet to section off the area at the bottom of the cot (the same way they did in NICU for developmental care) and used blankets that were tucked in to the bottom of the cot so they couldn't go high enough to cover her face. I had the cot on the highest level until she was able to sit up.

He’s 8 weeks and just over 13lb so he’s big and very long... I’ll give the towels ago under the sheet and see how we get on...
