Ideas for fifth birthday

DD is turning five mid- December and rather than a party she would like a special day with her best friend. Trouble is, everywhere is Christmas and Santa themed around that time so I was trying to think of something based at home instead.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to make it really special with just the two of them, even something I could buy in. I guess it would be weird getting something like a magician for two children but open to ideas!

i saw someone who showed small groups of kids how to shape balloons into animals, would something like that be an option?

How about one of those places where they can decorate their own piece of pottery, then a trip to Pizza Express or similar?

Otherwise, what does she like doing? A little trip with 2 is eminently doable. How about the Panto? If you inform them, she could have a special annoucement wishing her happy birthday.
