Worried about 8yo behaviour

For the past couple of months she’s been lying constantly. I know small lies can be normal/testing boundaries etc but I’m starting to get concerned about these ones. It started at school she’d come home and say ‘so and so done this to me’ the story would eventually come out she had started the situation or made it up entirely to get the child in trouble for something minor like refusing to play with her. She got punishments for these and I spoke to her about how wrong it is, but it started up again.
Her new teacher sees her as the naughty one which has put her at a disadvantage as she’s usually very well behaved and a lovely child in general.
She had a good friend who was physically hurting other children and telling lies herself so I had to ban their friendship with support of school staff and since then no one will play with her and she’s generally alone at playtimes, never invited to parties and gets missed out for most activities.
Im 99% sure she doesn’t have any SN, she is shy and usually overshadowed by her older sister, being August born hasn’t helped either, but this is all new and worrying as I can’t work out why she is doing it. When I ask she says she doesn’t know.
For background her dad isn’t around he has a new family now she doesn’t remember having him around and I know she has some jealousy about the new family but I don’t know if it would trigger this. I grew up in an abusive household and lied a lot myself as a child for attention because I felt forgotten, but I don’t feel my dd is in this position as she gets attention every day and has friends outside of school she sees every week and all is fine in those situations. I’m at a complete loss for what to do, please help.
