My baby poops lots

My little boy has poop in every nappy, there's sometimes only a tiny bit like when he's farted and a bits come out, but for there to be poop in every one, goes through about 8 in a 24 hour period. Used to be 10-15.

He's putting weight on like a champ though, born 7lb4 now weighing 10lb7, so Doc's etc are very happy with weight gain. So that's good.

I can't help but feel there's something amiss for there to be poop in every nappy though?

Thoughts?

How old is he?
All mine have done this in the first 6 weeks or so, as far as I’m aware it’s normal.

If he's not weaned yet, then it's normal.

He's 5 weeks tomorrow

Yep, normal!

Yup. Expect a poop after every feed at that age. They slow down about 4/5 months and then you start weaning and for a while it's poop all the time again.

Also breast fed, I can't get over how much he poops and how noisy he is! Grunting etc. Recently given gaviscon infant for reflux, but stopped that today after him becoming very constipated and crying in pain being unable to poop

Some breastfed babies poop once every 10 days, some poop 10 times a day - and anything in between. All normal.

My babies were all on the 10x a day end of the scale.

Mine were also all very very noisy. I couldn’t sleep through the noise. I think that started to calm down at around 8-10 weeks.

Wasn't normal for my baby. She had wet nappies and maybe 2/3 poo nappies. We probably went through about 8/9 nappies in 24hrs.

Others are saying it was normal with their baby though.
